Game of the Year 2017

So, 2017 is quickly coming to an end.  With that in mind, it’s time to start debating on what will take Game of the Year this year.

The Game Awards 2017 is scheduled to take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 7, 2017, and will be live-streamed across 16 different broadcast platforms.  Geoff Keighley will continue to host, and will include performances by The Game Awards Orchestra, a mixed group of music performers and composers to highlight music from the nominated games.  Keighley said the show has drawn interest from some movie studios, and the show will include promotional materals from their upcoming films.

Three award categories, eSports player, eSports team, and most-anticipated game categories, will be voted by viewers in the weeks ahead of the show through online polling. The previous “Best Mobile/Handheld Game” will split off a separate “Best Mobile Game” award, reflecting the differences in how handheld and mobile games are developed, and a new award for “Best Ongoing Game” will be offered for games that continue to provide new content as a games-as-a-service model.

What are your picks?  I got either The Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Switch or Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4 taking it this year.

Let the debate begin!

Yea Zelda will most likely take it. I just got that love for Horizon…the ONLY game to date that I’ve actually watched all the cutscenes. No other game has had that effect on me. “Damn another cutscene?” SKIP!
